The Organization of African Trade Union Unity( OATUU) has been informed with great regret of the occupation of the labour exchange by the Chadian security forces; according to the Union des Syndicats du Tchad (UST), no reason has been given. OATUU condemns this act contrary to international conventions; a flagrant violation of the franchises of the Labour Exchange.

In addition, it expresses its solidarity with the UST and the workers of Chad. OATUU asks the government to withdraw the security forces and to promote the language of social dialogue and concertation rather than the use of force.
