The Secretary-General of the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU), Mr. Arezki Mezhoud has participated in the 8th Congress of the Union of Trade Unions of Chad (UST), held in N’Djamena, Chad, on 15 October 2025, under the theme “A New Perspective on Sincere Dialogue to Guarantee Decent Work for All.”

In his message, Mr. Mezhoud commended the UST for its steadfast commitment to defending workers’ rights and promoting social justice in Chad. He emphasized the importance of genuine social dialogue as a tool for achieving decent work, equality, and dignity for all workers.

The Secretary-General reaffirmed OATUU’s solidarity with the Chadian labour movement and called for unity and cooperation across Africa’s trade unions in confronting shared socio-economic challenges.
