12th June 2022 marks two decades after the International Labour Organization (ILO) launched the first World Day Against Child Labour in the year 2002. Despite the strides that have been made in the fight against child labour, research indicates that child labour is still on the rise, especially in Africa, depriving many children of their education and their childhood. This paper sheds light on the hidden forms of child labour prevalent in Africa and the role of trade unions in eradicating this social ill.
