An OATUU delegation composed of its Secretary General, Mr. Arezki Mezhoud, and its permanent representative at the International Labour Organisation, in Geneva, Switzerland, Mr. Abdoulaye Lelouma DIALLO, met with the Director of the Office of Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV), Mrs. Maria Héléna André on 8th November 2022 at the ILO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
The meeting served as an opportunity for both parties to discuss prospects for cooperation between OATUU and ACTRAV.
After welcoming the OATUU delegation, Mrs. Maria Héléna André reaffirmed ACTRAV’s commitment to further cooperation with OATUU and the development of new programs in the future. She also commended the work OATUU is doing in Africa to promote ILO programmes and the rights of African workers.
In response, OATUU Secretary-General, Mr. Mezhoud thanked the Director of ACTRAV for her support for African workers and her willingness to strengthen cooperation in the future. He also took the opportunity to inform her of OATUU’s 50th-anniversary celebration, which will take place in Accra, Ghana, in April 2023.
Brother Abdoulaye Lelouma Diallo also thanked the Director of ACTRAV for her willingness to improve cooperation with OATUU and support publishing a book on the Guinean trade union movement.
Concluding the meeting, both sides determined to continue pursuing collaboration on issues of work in Africa.
