OATUU Secretary-General meets with Regional Director of ILO Office for Africa

An OATUU delegation composed of the Secretary-General, Mr. Arezki Mezhoud, and the Permanent Representative to the ILO Geneva, Switzerland, Mr. Abdoulaye Lelouma Diallo met with the Regional Director of the ILO Office for Africa, Ms. Cynthia Samuel-Olonjuwon on Thursday, 10th November 2022 in her office at the ILO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Both sides discussed cooperation between the ILO Regional Office for Africa and OATUU and the action plan for the implementation of the Abidjan Declaration.

Madam Samuel-Olonjuwon expressed her willingness to strengthen cooperation with ILO constituents and to work towards the achievement of ILO objectives in Africa, notably through the action plan of the Abidjan Declaration adopted at the 14th ILO Regional Conference in December 2019.

The OATUU Secretary-General thanked her warmly for her efforts to promote and implement the ILO’s objectives in Africa, including fundamental rights at work. He also announced that OATUU would be celebrating its 50th anniversary in April 2023, and requested that Madam Samuel-Olonjuwon honour this historic event with her presence.
