AU-OATUU to Organize the 2018 PARTNERSHIP FORUM, DAR ES SALAAM, 9th to 11th AUGUST 2018

The African Union Commission (AUC) and the Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) organize a Partnership Forum, taking place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 9-11 August 2018.

The AU/OATUU Partnership Forum is taking place within the framework of the ongoing Partnership between the African Union and key civil society stakeholders including those within the organized labour sector. The meeting would focus on popularizing the AU Agenda 2063 within the African Trade Union Organizations with the Theme: ‘’Development and transformation of Africa through good governance, role of trade unions in winning the fight against corruption’ ’It is therefore strongly appreciated if your organization is well represented at the upcoming meeting. The purpose of the Forum is to, amongst others:

  • Popularize the AU Agenda 2063 within the African Trade Union Organizations and develop mechanism for the participation of organized labor in the implementation, review and monitoring of the first 10 years implementation plan of Agenda 2063
  • Sensitize African organized labor groups on African Union Theme of the year 2018: “Winning the Fight against Corruption: A Sustainable Path to Africa’s Transformation” and further develop concrete mechanism for their participation in the achievement of its objectives especially in the area of governance in Africa
  • Develop inputs from African trade union into the ongoing reform of the Economic Social and Cultural Council of the African Union ECOSOCC as mandated by Executive Council Decision EX.CL/Dec 869 (XXVII) and EX.CL/890 (XXVII)
