It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Comrade Adjia François Djondang, Former Secretary General of the National Center Workers’ Union of Chad (UST) and President of the Trade Union Organisation of Workers of Central Africa (OSTAC) on Sunday, March 14, 2012, following a short illness.

The deceased is known for his tenacity, commitment and dedication to the cause of workers whom he has loyally served as a member of the Workers’ Group in the ILO Governing Body for two consecutive terms.

He also carried out major protest actions that cost him and his comrades a 3-year suspended prison sentence and a fine of 1.5 million CFA francs in 2012.

Saddened by this news, the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) presents to his family and members of both organisations, its sincere condolences. May he rest in perfect peace!
