OATUU executives and affiliates have participated in a seminar, focusing on the practical logic and international significance of Chinese modernization and trade union cooperation in China from 11th to 19th May. The seminar, organized by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), featured a robust schedule of activities, discussions, and cultural exchanges across Beijing, Fuzhou, and Quanzhou.
The seminar commenced with an opening ceremony presided over by Director General of the International Liaison Department, Mr. Ma Jin. Notable speeches were delivered by Secretary General of OATUU, Mr. Arezki Mezhoud and Vice Chairman and Secretary of ACFTU, Mr. Wei Dichun. Their addresses highlighted the importance of international cooperation in fostering robust trade unions and enhancing workers’ rights.
The academic segment of the seminar was marked by a series of insightful lectures. Vice President of China University of Labour Relations, Prof. Li Ke discussed the practical logic and international significance of Chinese modernization. This was followed by Mr. Mezhoud’s address on OATUU-ACFTU cooperation, which underscored the strategic partnerships and collaborative efforts essential for mutual growth.
Mr. Wu Chuanhua introduced the Chinese Trade Unions Silk Road Scholarship, emphasizing opportunities for further educational exchange. Throughout the seminar, participants visited several notable sites and companies, including service stations for outdoor workers, NetDragon Websoft Holdings Limited, and the historical Three Lanes and Seven Alleys in Fuzhou.
The program not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also fostered stronger ties between OATUU and ACFTU, paving the way for enhanced international cooperation in trade union activities.
