The Organisation of African Trade Union Unity is calling for all parties involved in the Sudan conflict to cease fighting and pursue peace through the instrument of national dialogue. This comes as clashes between the Sudanese army and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have led to the loss of hundreds of lives and left many injured.

OATUU is horrified at the turn of events and believes that “the prolongation of this deeply regrettable situation will undoubtedly complicate the lives of the Sudanese people as threats escalate and their security, stability and unity are compromised.” In light of these circumstances, OATUU is entreating all national and trade union entities to stand united and “support all endeavours aimed at dialogue and peace”.
