The President of The Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU), Mr. Francis Atwoli has paid a visit to the OATUU Secretariat, located in Accra, Ghana on 1 July 2022.  

Upon his arrival, Mr. Atwoli had a brief interaction with the staff and encouraged them to stay committed to the African labour movement. He also highlighted OATUU’s quest in ensuring development through the promotion of the decent work agenda and stated that this goal could only become a reality, if Africans strove to exercise their power by shifting away from dependence.

Mr. Atwoli also touched on the importance of the digital economy, saying that the digital environment was altering the idea of work and how it should be done. He stressed on the promotion of digital literacy and called on the organisation to work hard to ensure that Africa is not left behind with this new wave.
