Soudan: OATUU reaction regarding the ban of Trade Union Activities

The Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU)
strongly denounces the decision of the Sudanese Transitional Military Council to suspend all trade union activities in the country.

In a letter addressed to the President of this entity, General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, OATUU urges him to re-examine his decision and to comply with the International Conventions (87 and 98) in respect of the freedom of association.

OATUU, if necessary, plans to send a complaint to the International Labor Organization.

OATUU expresses its deep solidarity to the Sudanese trade union movement and to all Sudanese workers by wishing them a happy and positive progress in the revolution of the Sudanese people.
