International Day of Migrant Workers: OATUU Reaffirms Its Commitment to Rights, Dignity and Decent Work

As the world marks the International Day of Migrant Workers, the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) reiterates ts unwavering commitment to the protection of the fundamental rights and human dignity of all migrant workers, irrespective of their status, origin or sector of activity. Migration must never translate into the loss of rights, nor serve as a pretext for discrimination, exploitation or abuse.

OATUU calls on governments, employers and social partners to uphold international labour standards, guarantee equal treatment, strengthen social protection, and promote social dialogue and trade union inclusion for migrant workers. Unity, solidarity and social justice remain central to the trade union movement’s struggle for decent work for all.
