OATUU files complaint against Libyan government for violation of ILO constitution at 108th session of ILC

The Organization of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) has filed a complaint with the International Labor Organization (ILO) against the Libyan government.

This complaint follows the non-compliance of the Libyan government with the ILO Constitution in the composition of the delegation representing Libya for the 108th Session of the International Labour Conference, being held from 10 to 21 June 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to the the General Union of Libyan Workers, an organization affiliated to OATUU, the government did not respect the rules for appointing workers’ delegates to this conference.

OATUU considers this act to be a violation of the ILO Constitution and the rules of the conference as well as the principle of tripartism
