The Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) will hold its 45th General Council Meeting in Accra, Ghana, from 20th to 22nd November 2024, under the theme: “Strengthening the Role of Trade Unions for Advancing Social Justice for Everyone.”
The event will bring together trade union leaders from across Africa and representatives from the African Union (AU), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and other international trade union organisations. Former Prime Minister of Kenya, and candidate for the African Union Commission chairmanship, Raila Odinga will attend as the keynote speaker, adding his voice to the critical discussions.
A two-day workshop, organised in collaboration with the ILO, will precede the main session. It will focus on empowering trade unions to tackle issues like workers’ rights, and advancing social justice for all.
