OATUU Secretary-General Meets with ACTRAV Director in Geneva

The Secretary-General of the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU), Mr. Arezki Mezhoud, met with the Director of the Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV), Ms. Maria Helena André, at the International Labour Office in Geneva, Switzerland. He was accompanied by OATUU’s Permanent Representative in Geneva, Mr. Abdoulaye Lelouma Diallo.

Also present at the meeting was the Head of ACTRAV’s Africa Desk, Ms. Hilma Mote. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between OATUU and ACTRAV, particularly in light of emerging global challenges and their impact on African workers. Both parties acknowledged the pressing issues facing the labor movement and explored future collaborative actions with ACTRAV’s support to address these challenges.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both organisations to advancing the rights and well-being of workers in Africa through sustained cooperation and strategic initiatives.
