The ILO Director-General, Mr. Gilbert Houngbo has paid a courtesy visit to the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) Secretariat in Accra, Ghana on the 22nd February 2023. Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by the Secretary-General, Mr. Arezki Mezhoud, and other elected officials, as well as the Secretary-General of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (TUC), Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah.
Addressing the staff of the Secretariat, the Director-General expressed his appreciation to African workers for their support during the election process of the ILO which took place in 2022, and saw him assume leadership of the International Labour Organisation. He added that there would be continuous cooperation to ensure the progress of workers on the continent, as well as globally.
