Death of Brother Mohammed Wahballah

It is with pain and sorrow that the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) announces the death of brother Mohammed Wahballah Mohammed Ali, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF) and Vice-President of OATUU on Friday, 30 April 2021, following a short illness.

The deceased was an Egyptian trade union leader who engaged in the struggle within the National Commercial Workers’ Union. He then became General-Secretary of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation. He was also elected Vice President of OATUU at the organisation’s 11th Congress held in March 2017 in Bamako, Mali, a position he held until the day of his death.
