OATUU Secretariat hosts Secretary-General of Socialist International

The Secretary-General of Socialist International, Madam Benedicta Lasi, has paid a courtesy visit to the Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) Secretariat on 25th August, 2023 in Accra, Ghana. In a warm atmosphere, the Secretary-General of OATUU, Mr. Arezki Mezhoud welcomed Madam Lasi alongside other members of the Executive body. The meeting marked a significant moment as it provided both parties with an opportunity to explore common ground and lay a foundation for prospective collaboration.

The discussions that transpired during the meeting served as an invaluable platform for both parties to exchange ideas on labor issues to socio-economic development. The exchange of insights and experiences between the organisations fostered a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead and further strengthened the resolve to cooperate in the pursuit of shared goals.

The Socialist International is a global organisation, with origins tracing back to the early international organisations of the labour movement. The organisation works to strengthen and develop social democratic policies in the world through the activities of its Council, and its thematic and regional Committees, Working Groups, and Commissions.
