Honouring Rajabu Mwondi: A True Champion for Workers’ Rights

The Organisation of African Trade Union Unity (OATUU) is deeply saddened by the passing of Brother Rajabu Mwondi, a remarkable leader and a true champion for workers’ rights. His death occurred on 16th August 2023, at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu.

As Chairman General of COTU (K) and General Secretary for the Kenya Union of Printing, Publishing, Paper Manufacturer, and Allied Workers (KUPRIPUPA), Brother Mwondi dedicated his life to the betterment of workers in Kenya. His legacy as a courageous, dedicated, and long-serving trade union veteran will forever be etched in our hearts.

OATUU extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members during this time. As we remember and honor Brother Rajabu Mwondi’s legacy, we also pray that his family finds the strength to navigate this period. May his soul find eternal rest in the embrace of Almighty God.
